Alexa's style of painting is ephemeral, the only thing remaining of Alexa Meade is her photograph. Photography and painting are tightly coordinated to create two-dimensional flat surface which is a trompe l'oeil. In certain places, the third dimensions can be seen, for example, close to the eyes or in the hair. Meade occasionally integrates painted models in the space surrounding them. This allows them to engage with the environment that she created. By doing so, Meade has dissolved the boundaries between painting, photography and performing.
